The Andy Diehl On Being A Doctor Essay Award Competition for Medical Student and Resident ACP Members is offered at the TXACP meeting. The winning author's work will be showcased at the Texas Chapter Annual Meeting.
The author will have all expenses paid to attend the TXACP meeting. Membership in the Texas chapter of the ACP is required for submission. The author will also be recognized as part of the Annual Business Meeting and Awards Luncheon and will receive a stipend and invitation to attend the ACP Internal Medicine Meeting in the Spring.
The theme for the 2018 competition is
Reconnecting in Medicine
Submissions must be original prose or poetry, and are limited to 1,000 words or less. Submissions may be previously published or presented work. Submissions will be judged on uniqueness, flow of thought, and appropriateness to the theme. The judging process will be blinded with regards to the author and their academic affiliation. To ensure that your submission is considered for judging, please complete all information requested and submit this form no later than 11:59 p.m. (CT) on Friday August 31, 2018. No submissions will be accepted after midnight.
